Digi-Pak final outcome

This is the overall outcome for the Digi-Pak that myself and Erica Hall have come up with. Throughout the recent weeks towards the ancially part of the course we gave ourself strict outlines and deadline sto ensure that we would meet the plan that we desgined ourselves and to have enough time to make minor adgjustments when needed.

This is the final outcome of the Digi-Pak that we have both produced. Making sure that we both took equal oppurtunity in making the final outcome and bringing across ideas.

DIGI-PAK

Overall I beleive that our Digi-Pak is suitable for the theme of our chosen genre of song. Being a folk/acoustic stylised song this meant we had to keep the constant flow of that throughout the Advert, music video and Digi-Pak. I think myself and Erica Hall have completed this step ensuring that we keep in with Goodwins theory and apply the codes and convetions throughout. For example you can see the colour theme expressed throughout the Digi-Pak and Advert (as shown on another post) and Also the different camera angles we have used to keep in with the proffesional looking theme.

These are our 6 pictures that we have used for our digi-pak to ensure we have the best quality as possible We have made sure that we stick to the "Line of 3" so thats its eye catching and bold for our audience and will make them look at it and want to buy it. The fact that most of the colours are the same throughout and in such ba clear quality enables for audience to want to buy them more.

Digi-Pak Planning

Before making the Digi Pak we had to plan what we wanted our overall Digi Pak to look like.
This is why Erica Hall and myself have come up with.  We hope when it comes to editing the Digi-Pak on photoshop that we will use the right colours to portay the genre of our music video. When taking the photos we also hope to stick with the codes and convetions.

We planned that we wanted to keep Goodwins theory throughout.
This was our first draft however usually myself and Erica change ideas and opinions when we actulaly get the photos editited on photoshop to fit in with the digi-pak genre. Something thats good about our Digi-Pak is that we keep the codes and convetions throughout and also we apply Goodwins theory. Myself and Erica both disagree that we actually don't like the middle top picture were hoping that alot of our pannels will have a star image at use to keep that consistant professional outcome throughout.

By the time we take the photos and then re edit these to make them more suitable for the codes and convetions of a folk genre/acoustic style song it should be approporate for our final outcome of a Digi Pak.

Risk Assesment

When producing a music video or any type of video you have to think about the health and safety issues within the actual shooting aspects of making the music video. This is why I have decided to come up with a risk assessment. This includes things such as checking props, costumes, technical equipment and performance area.
Risk assessment's are actually very important and should be followed by all performers and directors on set. A risk assessment is actually a very professional thing to use and follow. Having done many shows with the school I already have a basic knowledge of how a risk assessment should be used and when it should be checked. Any form of performing aspects should all have risk assessments. This is to ensure and be aware of dangerous areas of filming.
I have come up with this table and tried to use the following basic rules of how a risk assessment should be laid out - clear and organised structure, easy to understand. This risk assessment should also be shown to all performers before shooting. Furthermore all areas being used should be checked before hand and told to the performers. To ensure they are ready to go.

Shot List

In many music videos you will see there is a wide range of camera shots in every single scene, From close up shots to extreme close up shots then to Establishing shots. This is to show the audience what is either happening where the location is or to show emotion behind something.

For our music video we have watched alot of videos that match our genre of the chosen song in order to get the right shots for our music video. We have decided to use:

Establishing Shot - This establishing shot is usually used when setting the scene. It gives the audience a better understanding of where the location of the music video has been set. It also shows the relationship between the people and place. For our music video because we are shooting in alot of open area spaces this should portray to the audience an open feeling. When rays of the sun hit the camera it will create the season of summer which will connect to that feel good vibe we hope to produce.

Wide/Long Shot - Usually this shot is to show an actor/performer in a bigger space. This creates a a performance space for the performer/actor. In some scenes in our music video we need quite big spaces and this shot will be good to get all the action in these particular scenes. Mainly in the chorus aspects of the song. With our music video this shot is good to use because of all the action we wouldn't want to add in birds eye vies shots because it would make it to dramatic and over the top. Keeping the shots in a professional suttle tone will be great for the style and genre of our music video.

Medium Shot - The medium shot will be used mainly when the performer will be lip syncing and playing the guitar. It will create the atmosphere and drag the attention onto the star image (Goodwins theory) without having other distractions. As the focus at this point will be on the performers facial expressions and the guitar. This means the lyrics will project their ways to the audience and gain their emotion and understanding. The audience will also be able to see the setting which will help the performer interact and the audience will be able to connect with this.

Extreme close-up- We are using an extreme close up at the very being on the guitar's strings and picking situations with fingers on the guitar strings (very Boyce Avenue Style and Tyler Ward inspired) However this looks good when they are in focus and in extreme close up. This is to tell the audience about the genre of music and also the talents of the actor.

Close up- We will be using a close up on the star image to show the emotions of the song. We thought what would also look good is it sometimes blur the background so the full attention of the audience is focusing on the performer and they will be able to feel her emotions that are being mad

Low angle- The low angle is to create a different perspective from the audience and to put themselves in that situation. When the sun is shining in the open space this angle will really reflect the rays that are in the shot and give a summer vibe and creating that feel good, free spirited theme that we are trying to aim for.

Zooming- We have decided to have zooming in and out of shot as like a transition so it flows between different shots so it’s not just one after another. This will look better for when we edit as we have transition to work with. However some scenes will just have cuts because it will create a better flow.

Panning- We want to use panning when doing Lyrics and visuals and it works well with them and would make sense to use panning. It will be like taking the audience on a journey and so it not them just watching the star image just standing there. It will add more character to their personality.

Overall these are all the shots that we shall be using when filming the music video.
